Oh Dakota, it seems like only yesterday we were reveling in the precociousness of your pre-teen youth. (It's been 10 years since I Am Sam!) Now you're getting out of high school the old-fashioned way: by graduating.
In an age when most teen stars do their book learning with a private teacher, Dakota Fanning's parents have been adamant in their insistence that she lead as normal a life as possible. That means that for the last four years she's attended North Hollywood's Campbell Hall Episcopal High School where she was a cheerleader and this year's Homecoming Queen, and now a graduate with honors.
The 17-year-old actress was photographed during the graduation ceremony on Monday wearing her blue cap and gown along with a gold cord signifying her academic achievements. People reports that Dakota's parents, and her younger sister, up-and-coming 13-year-old actress Elle Fanning, were there to cheer her on.
It remains to be seen whether Dakota will be following actresses such as Natalie Portman and Emma Watson into the Ivy League.
